Ilmvac Dry Run Scroll- Chemically Resistant Vacuum Pump

Why we use the Ilmvac Scroll

There are many Scroll vacuum pumps available today. Ilmvac have launched this one. It's different from the others. This is why:

  • It can cope with chemical / water vapour.

The problem with most Scroll pumps is that if vapour is ingested in a traditional scroll, the vapour is often is trapped inside, mostly because the exhaust port is half way up the pump body. This of course can cause long term damage. Ilmvac have tackled this in several ways.

  • The lowest point in the Ilmvac Scroll pump is the exhaust. Any vapour that goes in is easily expelled.
  • Surface treated "wetted" parts

All the parts that come in contact with the process gasses have been impregnated with a chemicaly resistive surface. This allows the pump to be used on many applications which would not normally associated with a dry scroll.

  • Easy to service
  • Ultimate with gas ballast 1 x 10-1 mbar
  • Connection flange DN 25 KF
  • Water vapour tolerance 50 mbar
  • Motor power 550 W
  • Noise level < 60 dB(A)
  • Pumping speed 10 m3/hr

Scroll pumps are often known for being awkward to service. The Ilmvac Scroll though is very easy to dismantle and re assemble. Like all Ilmvac pumps, every single item of the pump is listed in the manual should you damage anything during its life.

  • Dry running Scroll avoids pump oil particles from diffusing back into the suction port of the pump and on into the connected apparatus. The time consuming filling and draining of operating oil is also eliminated, which provides clean handling of the pump.

The scope of applications for this new development from Ilmvac includes vacuum drying, freeze drying, high vacuum distillation and general degassing processes. The pump is also used in refrigeration, as a dry-running fore-pump for turbomolecular pumps, and in glove boxes.
