Shot collection System
Industry Sector: General Application:Retrieval of shot from pit, where enclosed space health and safety issues were of concern. Description: Cyclone type collection vessel with removable lid and a fast large bore drain. Capable of pulling stray shot up from a fifteen foot deep pit beneath a shot blasting machine. There were health and safety issues regarding sending a person with a shovel and bucket into a confined space in the pit beneath a large industrial shot blaster. The pit floor was modified to accommodate the suction head and the system installed in such a way that the recovered shot was drained back into the industrial shot blasting machine with only one twist of a valve. This system is capable of retrieving and recycling shot from two adjacent pits.
