Total refurbishment of 12" coating system to include:

Complete strip down and service of vacuum system and coating chamber. Design and manufacture of custom stainless steel vacuum collar to allow mounting of new 3" DC magnetron source with shutter. New stand alone control cabinet housing all coating system controls plus oxygen monitor and new 1 kW DC power supply. Installation of vacuum system into glovebox

Description:

Modification of research vacuum coating equipment to enable use for high throughput production runs. Conversion of pump system to oil free turbomolecular system with turbomolecular drag pump and diaphragm backing pump. New 6 position thermal evaporation source with mechanical position stops. Modification of tooling to allow for simple systematic maintenance program.

Application:Vacuum coating both sides of quartz substrate during single vacuum cycle.

Description:

Manually operated stainless steel substrate manipulator allowing each substrate to be rotated 180 degree ( 'flip over' ) around it's own axis in situ. This facilitates coating of both sides of the substrate without the need to break the vacuum thus reducing process time. Motorised rotation of the mask holder assembly to assist in coating uniformity. Designed to hold up to four component masks (five and six mask options available ).
