Last year in April, we reported of our very own record breaker hot air balloonist, who also popped the question to his girlfriend and on Saturday, we were all invited to share his very special day.
The newly weds tied the knot on Saturday 23rd at Wickwar Church on a beautifully sunny day. The service mostly ran smoothly, apart from one hitch, where Yvette (the bride) found herself at the church, looking stunning in her dress about to make her vows without her bouquet of flowers, so the ceremony ran a little late This, however is surely the brides prerogative, to make Ben sweat a little (not as though it was not hot enough) other than a forgetful bride, the service ran perfectly.
Celebrations kicked off at a festival style wedding, with fine food, wine and cider all staged in a teepee style tent. After dinner the newlyweds and guest partied the night away, with little surprises and personal touches making the day, all organised by Ben’s bride – Yvette.
Yvette followed tradition and threw her earlier retrieved bouquet, but with a Mr and Mrs Close twist as she launched the bouquet from Ben’s hot air balloon with a perfect sun set as their backdrop. The night followed with fire pits and merriment and a good time had by all. We would like to wish the newly married couple all the best in the future.
