Last week we had Harry Ellis, son of our expert Leak Detector Engineer, Richard Ellis. Harry who is 15yrs old decided (maybe told) to come and learn a thing or two from his old man at West Technology. As well as learning the ins and outs of leak detection, he was also taught how to service a pump and was taken into product design meetings. This allowed him to see what he really excelled and thrived at. Richard, without being biased reported that Harry took on a good understanding of vacuum and engineering.
Harry is now back at Rednock School for the final week of the school year, before summer. Next year he will be taking on his final year as well as keeping up his skills on the football pitch. We hope that Harry enjoyed his time at West Technology and is always welcome back. His most important role came at the end of the week, when he took on the responsibility of taking the Friday Bacon/Sausage roll round. We would like to thank Harry for his hard work last week and wish him all the luck in the future.

‘I learnt a lot and it was good to work with my Dad, especially as now I understand what he does every day. Servicing the pumps and leak detectors was my favourite bit to do, and wearing the safety boots was my least!’
