The world’s first automated solvent-free process for Ninhydrin & 1,2-Indandione.
The fully automated system enables the operator to process multiple pieces of porous and semi-porous evidence simultaneously using a reagent tablet rather than a solvent solution.
The AminoVac ensures consistent, uniform results across a wide variety of porous substrates. Our dedicated forensic innovation team are already exploring future reagents to be used in the AminoVac.
› Simple three-step process with zero specialist skills or experience required for operation.
› Plug and play set-up with online how-to videos for operator training.

The Process
Evidence Processing
Developing fingermarks using AminoVac is an efficient three step process that can take as little as 20 minutes
Stage 1:
Ninhydrin or 1,2-Indandione tablets are positioned at pre-set locations within the chamber. Tablets may be used for multiple process cycles.
Stage 2:
Attach the evidence to the evidence holder and place it in the chamber. The chamber has an evidence loading capacity of 75 litres (19.8 US gallons).
Stage 3:
The operator uses a simple touch screen interface to select the desired process, delivering Ninhydrin or 1,2-Indandione to the evidence in a matter of minutes.
Any operator can now clear backlogs of evidence with automated rapid batch processing
Processed evidence
Some thermal receipts may require an acetone pre-wash when using the solvent method, which could have a negative impact on the printed data contained on the receipt. The AminoVac process circumvents this with a single stage development, retaining all printed information.
Your laboratory advantage

Solvent Free
Experience a hassle-free process with no need for chemical preparation, waste, or consumables with a short shelf life. Enjoy the peace of mind that comes with zero contamination of reagents, eliminating associated health and safety concerns.

Batch Processing
The streamlined process enables you to handle a wide variety of evidence types in one simple step, including various compositions and form.

Automated Operation
The touch screen controls the entire process, requiring the operator to simply confirm the tablet being used. It provides clear, sequential guidance for each stage, ensuring a simple and easy user experience.

Tablet Delivery
Tablets are used instead of powders, liquids or sprays to ensure uniform deposition of the active reagent whilst minimising background staining. They are easy and safe to handle, can be reused multiple times, offering a costeffective process. Additionally, the tablets produce consistent, reliable results due to their pre-made formulation.
