Driving Towards a Greener Future: West Technology Welcomes First All-Electric Van

At West Technology, we are thrilled to announce the latest milestone in our sustainability journey: the arrival of our first fully electric delivery van, the award-winning Kia PV5 Cargo. This purchase marks a significant step forward in our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and future-proofing our operations.

Powering Clean with Every Mile

What makes this addition truly special is how it integrates with our existing green infrastructure. The new van will be powered entirely by the solar-panel-empowered car chargers we had installed across our site last year.

By “driving on sunshine,” we are closing the loop on our energy cycle:

  • Zero Tailpipe Emissions: Our new Kia emits no harmful pollutants, helping keep our local air cleaner.
  • 100% Renewable Energy: By using our own solar-generated power, we avoid reliance on the national grid and eliminate fuel costs.
  • Energy Independence: Utilising the infrastructure we invested in last year allows us to shield our operations from volatile energy prices.

A Smart Investment for the Future

The Kia was chosen for its exceptional efficiency and “clean-sheet” design, having already been crowned International Van of the Year. While the transition to electric vehicles helps protect the planet, it also makes sound business sense.

What’s Next?

This van is just the beginning. As we monitor its performance and the efficiency of our solar charging cycles, we plan to continue evaluating our fleet for further electrification opportunities.

We invite our customers and partners to look out for our new, silent, and sun-powered Kia van on the road!
